California passes Anti-Arizona Pro Illegal Immigrant bill
The Democratic led California Senate passed a bill on Thursday that seeks to remove illegal immigrants from status checks by state and local police and challenges immigration crackdowns in Arizona and other U.S. states.
The California Trust Act, referred to as the “anti-Arizona” bill, local police from referring a detainee to immigration officials for deportation unless that person has been convicted of a violent felony.
The bill has backing of nearly 100 immigrant right groups, and many illegal immigrants who are unlawfully in California.
The backer of the Bill, Tom Ammiano, stated “”Today’s vote signals to the nation that California cannot afford to be another Arizona”
This is dispite the fact California is in a budgetary crisis of fiscal disaster where illegal immigrants have pushed the state to near bankruptcy. Earlier last month it was reported the largest city in the nation, filed for bankrupcy. Meenwhile even the schools in Tom Ammiano’s on district are on the verge of economic collapse. California with nearly a 16 Billion Dollar deficit, largely do in part to its socialistic polices, and the costs of illegal immigrants put on the goverment, ranging from health care, education, to court and legal fees. Acording to he Federation for American Immigration Reform, California shelled out 21.7 billion dollars in 2009 on illegal immigrants.
Meanwhile, Arizona not only passed its budget this year but has managed to have a surplus of 450 million dollars.
