However instead of doing their job,  they spent time surfing for p0rn, doing drugs, and accepting lavish parties and vacations paid for by oil companies that they were supposed to be regulating.

Appeals court rules FCC has no authority

A US federal appeals court has ruled that the FCC doesn’t have the authority to force broadband providers to treat all internet traffic equally, and that blocking or slowing certain services, such as  BitTorrrent . The ruling basicly says the FCC that it has no authority to regulate the activities of internet service providers, just as the agency prepares to launch a nationwide broadband agenda.

Video depicting US forces killing of two Reuters journalists in Iraq

The video released today shows something quite different. A group of about 15 Iraqi men on a filthy street, chatting and walking along, apparently unaware of the helicopters watching them. One of the Americans in the helicopter says “that’s a weapon” while his cross-hairs focuses on a man identifies as Mr. Noor-Eldeen, one of two Reuters personnel killed who has what appears to be a professional camera slung over his right shoulder.

 

Jude rules NSA Wiretaps where Illegal –Again

A federal judge today ruled that the NSA’s warrant-less wiretapping program was illegal. In doing so, the judge rejects the Obama administration’s attempts to maintain the secrecy around the widely criticized program introduced by Bush after the 9/11 attacks

13 states are suing the Federal Goverment over Health care

Attorneys general from Alabama, , Nebraska, Texas, Michigan, Utah, Pennsylvania, , South Carolina, South Dakota, Louisiana, Idaho, Washington and Colorado are joining in.

Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna said “the bill unconstitutionally imposes new requirements on our state and on its citizens” and that the federal mandate requiring all Americans to buy health insurance violates the Commerce Clause and the 10th amendment.

With nearly 70 percent of the nation against the Healthcare bill, the Democrats voted into law, the Healthcare bill, and with it, all but guaranteed Republican’s seats in the next set of elections.

New Arizona immgration bill gets tough on Illegal Aliens

Proposed bills SB 1070 and HB 2632 won approval in the Arizona Senate, and is awaiting a full vote in the House. The bill, sponsored by Rep. David Gowa and Sen. Russell Pearce would take steps to enforce Immigration laws, as the Federal Government does nothing to stem the tide of illegal aliens flowing into the country.

NZ wanting to be just like AU filters the internet

The Department of Internal Affairs’ (DIA) internet filter is now operational and is being used by internet providers (ISPs) Maxnet and Watchdog. Thomas Beagle, spokesperson for online freedom lobby Tech Liberty says he’s “very disappointed that the filter is now running, it’s a sad day for the New Zealand internet”.

China Central Television (CCTV) reported on a Beijing juvenile prison where one man was serving a life sentence for murders he committed to obtain virtual equipment in an online game. The report stated that up to 80 percent of the violent criminals in the prison turned to crime because of online games.
