“Friday evening, in a motion to dismiss Jewel v. NSA, EFF’s litigation against the National Security Agency for the warrant-less wiretapping of countless Americans, the Obama Administration’s made two deeply troubling arguments. First, they argued, exactly as the Bush Administration did on countless occasions, that the state secrets privilege requires the court to dismiss the issue out of hand. They argue that simply allowing the case to continue “would cause exceptionally grave harm to national security.” As in the past, this is a blatant ploy to dismiss the litigation without allowing the courts to consider the evidence.” Communism anyone ? …

Obama appoints RIAA lawyer to DoJ

The Obama administration announced the appointment of a new RIAA lawyer to join the Justice Department.  Ian Gershengorn as one of the new members of the Department of Justice, marking the fifth lawyer from the RIAA to join. Gershengorn will become the department’s deputy assistant attorney of the Civil Division. So much for change you can count on.

Obama Administration renames the War on Terror

The Obama administration trying not to re brand everything to make failed polices seem new , and appear less threatening has re-branded “The War on Terror” and “terrorism,”  to “man-caused” disasters.   Next up, illegal immigrants to be re-branded “non compliant foreign resident” and convicted felon to ” certified civilly challenged” Lou Dobbs head set to explode.

20 Million to throw party

Republican law makers have set aside 20 million dollars to throw a party, for the victory against terror in Iraq. More wasted cash spent by congress. Republicans in Congress have set aside 20 million dollars for a post-war victory party once the US military crushes insurgencies and violence in Iraq and Afghanistan. The measure, REPLACEed into a defense spending bill, would empower President George W.
