Microsoft PhotoDNA will help fight Child Porn

Microsoft said PhotoDNA will help fight against a growing epidemic of child porn on the net. The program works by extracting a digital DNA sample from a photo. The sample can then be compared to billions of other images on the Internet.

Microsoft is donating PhotoDNA to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which said it projects in 2009 to analyze 9 million photos and videos suspected of being child porn.
